(3 star hotel)
from the airport
Save By Pre Booking
Spend the first night of your holiday in a cosy, little, family-run bed and breakfast, and wake just 10 minutes from Gatwick airport. As Gatwick airport hotels go, the Waterhall Country House is not only great value for money, you'll also get warm and friendly service too, but bear in mind that checking in after 22:00 incurs a late check-in fee of £50. It's especially lovely in the summer when you can explore the 34 acres of surrounding countryside and even spot deer roaming around. Then again, we like it just as much in the winter - warm yourself by the open fire in the bar and tuck into a hot breakfast in the morning.
Arrival at the Waterhall
You can check in between 15:00 and 22:00, though checking in after 22:00 incurs a fee of £50.
Here are your directions to the hotel:
Leave the M23 at junction 10 and take the A2011 towards Crawley - it's the first exit if you're travelling northbound, and the third exit if you're travelling southbound.
Take the third exit at the next roundabout, then the second exit at the roundabout after that onto the A23. Then take the third exit at the next roundabout onto Ifield Avenue.
Take the second exit at the next two roundabouts, then the third exit at the roundabout after that. After about two miles, turn left into Prestwood Lane - you'll see a sign for the hotel. After about 300 yards, you'll see the hotel on the right. The sign outside says Waterhall Country House.
By public transport:
The nearest train station is Ifield, which is just under five miles away, although it'll almost certainly be easier to get a train or a coach to Gatwick airport, and then a taxi to the hotel from there. The hotel recommends United Cars on 01293 429429 - a taxi to the hotel from the airport with them will cost £10 for a five-seater, £15 for a six-seater and £17.50 for an eight-seater. A five-seater taxi from Ifield station will cost £3.70. Taxis cost time and a half on Bank Holidays and double on Christmas Day.
The latest check-out time is 10am. Reception will arrange a taxi to the airport for you - the prices will be the same as above. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the airport.
