Rafters Bar, just behind the front lobby, is a warm and cosy area with plenty of seats. It's popular in the daytime for teas and coffees, and in the evening for pre-dinner drinks as well as light meals.

There’s a choice of lagers and ciders on tap, as well as bottled beers, wines by the bottle and glass, and a good range of spirits and liqueurs. The bar also opens out onto a terrace in the garden, which makes a pleasant place to sit in summer; and there’s a TV section where guests can catch up on the latest news and entertainment with a coffee or a pint. As well as the main bar, with its large leather sofas and armchairs, there’s a quiet lounge area on the mezzanine just above where guests can also take drinks.
