(3 star hotel)
from the airport
Park safely and then off to the continent
The Europa hotel at Gatwick has a 450-space, on-site car park, so the simplest option is just to book a package that includes parking at the hotel. You can leave your car at the hotel while you're away and rest easy knowing that your car will be monitored by CCTV. When you're ready to leave, just catch a shuttlebus direct to the airport.
The Europa runs its own bus to the airport 24 hours a day. The shuttlebus goes every 45 minutes during peak hours, otherwise service varies, but the helpful hotel staff will be happy to accommodate you. The journey to the South terminal takes 15 minutes, while the North terminal takes 20 minutes. A return trip on the bus costs £5 for an adult, £2.50 for children aged two to 16 and children under two travel free.

You'll feel an ocean away as soon as you walk in the door of the Europa hotel. With distinctly Mediterranean architecture and decor, pretty grounds and impressive leisure facilities, a stay at the Europa is a holiday in itself - just without the price tag. Check-in is from 14:00 so you'll have plenty of time to explore.
When you're ready to eat, take a seat upstairs in the Mediterranee restaurant. Dinner is served from 18:30 to 21:45 and you'll find a well-priced, carvery-style menu which will tickle your tastebuds. It's a relaxed, continental dining experience at the Europa where you can enjoy your dinner with a view over the fountain in the courtyard.
But if you're feeling peckish outside those hours or you'd like a drink or two to get you into that holiday mood, we'd recommend stopping at Rafters bar. You can tuck into some traditional pub grub next to the fireplace, or grab your drink and a snack and sit on one of the comfy leather sofas from 11:00 to 22:30. You can even stay connected with free wifi in the foyer.
Say "adios" to all the pre-holiday stress. If you've got some extra time on your hands, the hotel has a luxurious health club on site. Whether you're looking to burn a few calories in the gym, unwind in the bubbly hot tub or swim a few laps in the heated pool, there's no better place to do it than at the Europa. The health club is open from 06:30 to 22:00 from Monday to Thursday, 06:30 to 21:00 on a Friday, 08:00 to 20:00 at the weekend, and costs £4 for adults and £2 for children. Towel hire is £1 per towel.
Make your way to your clean, comfortable and spacious room when bedtime calls. Every bedroom has a TV, telephone, radio, hairdryer, trouser press and tea and coffee.
If you're looking for an even better start to your holiday, you can upgrade to an executive room. You'll get a wake-up-call service so you're up in time to catch your flight, a larger bedroom and a spa bath.
Take advantage of a scrumptious breakfast which is even easier on your pocket when you pre-book. You can take your pick from the wide selection of Continental and English breakfast foods. It's served in the Mediterranee restaurant from 06:30 to 09:30 on weekdays and 07:00 to 10:00 on weekends.
