Tasty & typically traditional

The Ifield Court is no longer available to book. Check out our other Gatwick airport hotel deals.

The St George’s Restaurant at the Ifield Court is as British as its name suggests, offering traditional favourites made with local ingredients and cooked fresh to order. The menu can change with the seasons but dishes such as battered fish and chips, fillet steak and beef or mushroom stroganoff are examples of what you might find on the Ifield Court Hotel menu, as are pies, local sausages and pasta dishes. Start with a homemade soup or prawn cocktail, priced from £4.50, and then enjoy a hearty main course for between £9.75 and £18.95. Portions are generous, so bring your appetite!

The St George's Restaurant

  • Breakfast: 6.30am to 9am
  • Dinner: 6.45pm to 9.30pm

Pudding-lovers won’t be disappointed either by the range of comforting old-school desserts on offer – treacle sponge or sticky toffee pudding are sure to satisfy any sweet cravings. Desserts are £4.50; look on the daily specials board for more options. There's also a good wine list, with 14 red, white and rose wines and three sparkling wines. House wines are available by the glass. Finish off with a nice glass of port or brandy, either in the restaurant or the bar next door.

The restaurant is open for dinner from 6.45pm to 9.30pm and booking in advance is advised.

In the morning, English breakfast - which includes vegetarian options - is served from 6.30am to 9am, but a buffet breakfast of cereals and toast is available from about 2am until 9am. Staff will happily top up your tea and coffee while you eat in the attractive garden-facing restaurant. English breakfast is £8.50 and the cold breakfast buffet is £5.
