A big country house with a little price tag
The Russ Hill began life as a country manor and still retains a charming, rustic feel. Although this large, friendly lodge is just 10 minutes' drive from Gatwick's terminals, it enjoys picturesque rural views of nearby Surrey something of a rarity at an airport hotel.
Cosy, comfortable and close to south terminal
The Russ Hill offers well-soundproofed and comfortable rooms, a cosy bar and an informal dining room which serves breakfast and buffet-style dinners. The Russ Hill's theme is traditional British from the wood-panelled walls and high-backed armchairs to the roasted dinners and local pub feel of the bar; it's a refreshing contrast to the familiar chain hotels that dominate the area. All rooms are en-suite and have a television, and free wifi is available in the hotel's public areas. A bus runs hourly to the airport terminals (see Getting There for further details); or it's a quick taxi ride.
The hotel was tired, poorly decorated and a horrible place to stay. We would not go back to this hotel!Mr Dryden (Gatwick Russ Hill)
It was amazing value for one night stay and parking. Really don't know why people leave negative feedback as we found it really good and didn't expect anything other than a basic room plus had a good meal in the dining room. Also the staff were really helpful even though they were so busy.Mrs Smith (Gatwick Russ Hill)
everything went smoothly, and the staff were helpful, but the hotel as a whole is a bit tired and in need of a major refurbishment.Mr Brown (Gatwick Russ Hill)
The Russ Hill Hotel is 1/2 full of Migration seekers being put up for the government.Mr Lynch (Gatwick Russ Hill)
Last night it was impossible to sleep as Children were banging up and down the corridor outside our room until well after 11.30PM.
Would never use a hotel such as that for Holiday accommodation or transit.
Staff very pleasant and the room basic but clean. However the hotel was looking rundown. More like a hostel as lots of young men appeared to be living there, perhaps from the EUMrs Pearse (Gatwick Russ Hill)
