A chic 1930s retreat
Antique finishes to modern facilities tastefully date this interior back to its aviation heyday as Speke airport. The heavy, rich walnut furniture harks back to the glamour of the 1930s and art deco furnishings render this hotel a slice of indulgent decadence.
Crisp white sheets are offset with a luxurious, faux satin throw, and the soft, sumptuous bed cradles your body as you sleep. Keep the temperature comfortable with the air conditioning and climate control, and help yourself to the tea and coffee and free bottled water. If you need to do some last-minute work, or just fancy browsing the web, pull your leather swivel chair up to the large work station, switch on your reading lamp and plug in to the wired internet connection; even working is a comfortable pastime here. Theres also a digital safe to store your laptop in when you leave the room.
All 164 rooms also have a minibar, a trouser press, a hairdryer, a radio, an iron and ironing board, a phone and 24-hour room service. The hotel also has a further six accessible rooms for guests with disabilities.
Extra space, extra facilities; enjoy extravagance
These impressive rooms would not be complete without equally impressive bathrooms too. Big, fluffy white towels, mock marble and an anti-mist mirror set the scene for a soak in the large bath and power shower. The shower head has three power control options so you can simply soak under it, or set it to pressure jet to blast away the days toils. Forgot some of your essentials? Dont worry, youre welcome to call down to reception for any extra toiletries, which will be brought to your room.
Pay an extra £25 for an executive suite and you can relax in a king-size bed as well as enjoy access to the executive lounge, which offers breakfast and a small bar. Its ideal if you want to really splash out on an exclusive stay.
There was an alarm going off in the factory next door at regular intervals throughout the night which made sleep impossible so a waste of money paying for a room and I left exhausted. The hotel needs to address this situation fastMrs Smith (Liverpool Crowne Plaza)
The CROWNE PLAZA Liverpool Airport is one of the best airport hotels I have stayed in, staying at the old Liverpool Airport Building it is filled with the glamour, deco and nostalgia of the olden days of Imperial Airways / BOAC and its a first parking the car next to a full size aeroplane, definately be back !Mr Jones (Liverpool Crowne Plaza)
Hotel accomodation was excellent and the location was convenient for the airport. I felt we got good value for money with the inclusive car parking at the hotel whilst we flew off abroad.Mrs Hough (Liverpool Crowne Plaza)
