Introduction

Purpose

This document will defines the XML interface to the Holiday Extras parking booking engine.

Scope

This document defines:

  • Request 21 - Hotels with parking availability by room type.
  • Request 4 - Hotels with parking booking for direct clients.
  • Request 5 - Hotels with parking booking for agents.
  • Errors

Format

Each interface is described in terms of:

  1. Table of variables
  2. XML request
  3. XML reply

Access

Access to the XML interface is restricted by Holiday Extras. Your sales contact at Holiday Extras will be responsible for setting up access.


Requests

Parking has 3 request codes:

Request code 21 - HOTELS WITH PARKING AVAILABILITY BY ROOM TYPE.
Availabilty request for hotels with parking according to room requirments
Request code 4 - HOTELS WITH PARKING BOOKING FOR DIRECT CLIENTS
Direct booking for hotels with parking.
Request code 5 - HOTELS WITH PARKNG BOOKIING FOR AGENTS
Booking hotels with parking through an agent

There must be at least one room segment present. For availability requests the room types are:
  • S10 : Single - 1 Adult
  • D20 : Double - 2 Adults
  • T11 : Twin - 1 Adult 1 Child
  • T20 : Twin - 2 Adults
  • T12 : Triple - 1 Adult 2 Children
  • T21 : Triple - 2 Adults 1 Child

n.b. Room codes change format in availability replies and for booking requests.
Note 2:
Customers can only book a maximum of two rooms on any one booking. If the customer requires more rooms, they will need to make another booking, or contact our call centre.

Note 1:
There must be at least one room segment present. Possible values for booking requests are:
  • SGL : Single room
  • TWN : Twin room
  • DBL : Double room
  • TRL :Triple room
  • QUD/FMC : Family room
  • FM5 : Family room (5 people)
You should use the value returned in the availability reply for the room chosen by the customer.
Note 2:
At least one address line must be entered.
Note 3:
At least one of Town or County is required.
Note 4:
At least one of DayPhone or EvePhone is required.
Note 5:
Y = Holiday Extras only can use data
N = Nobody can use data
T = Third party only can use data
A = Holiday Extras and third party can use data
Note 6:
Y = Only mandatory if required for type of card used for payment.
Note 7:
If this segment is present and the PriceCheckFlag is set to Y the price in PriceCheckPrice (which is the total price for selected elements as returned in the Level 21 reply) is compared against the total price calculated by the booking system. If the prices match, the booking will be made, otherwise a Level 3 reply will be returned containing the correct prices.
Note 8:
Not currently mandatory, BUT it will be required in the future. You should add it at the earliest opportunity.
Parking days/spaces
If booking a hotel room only, with no parking, both these fields should be set to zero. Incorrectly setting them can lead to parking being booked.

Please use the value returned by the availability request, for the room the customer has chosen.
Note 2:
These fields are only processed if the CustomerDetails parameter in the Login reply record is set to 'Y'. However, they are not mandatory.
Note 3:
If customer details are entered, at least one Address line is required.
Note 4:
If customer details are entered, at least one of Town or County is required.
Note 5:
If customer details are entered, at least one of DayPhone or EvePhone is required.
Parking days/spaces
If booking a hotel room only, with no parking, both these fields should be set to zero. Incorrectly setting them can lead to parking being booked.

The status of a request is indicated by the 'Result' attribute of the 'API_Reply' node. There are two types of error message.

  1. INVALID - The data input was invalid
  2. ERROR - The data was valid, but no availability etc
