The staff couldn't do more to make you feel welcome, with lots of charming, personal touches, from the hotel's own shuttlebus pickup at the airport to the home-cooked breakfasts. The hotel has recently expanded, adding another nine spacious, comfortable rooms and an outside patio with a barbecue for sitting out in the summertime. Theres a cosy bar and excellent restaurant serving cooked-to-order breakfasts and Mediterranean-influenced dinners, with Turkish dishes a particular speciality. The theme carries through the Acorn Lodges décor, with marble-tiled bathrooms, attractive paintings and samovars dotted around the lobby. Theres a 24-hour pick-up service from the airport just call and a driver will come to collect you in a dedicated minibus. The terminals are just five minutes away.
All the little things, included in the price
All rooms have an en suite bath or shower room and television. Wifi access is free for all guests and available in the public areas and most rooms. There are twin, double and family rooms (with childrens bunk beds) available. Breakfast is included in the price and, best of all, you can combine your stay with secured parking at the nearby Cambridge Hotel. Acorn Lodge is a great place to get your holiday off to a relaxed start.
We recommend the Acorn Lodge for:
Comfort - all rooms are clean and comfortable with springy beds and large, double-glazed windows for sunshine in the day and peace at night.
Convenience - the Acorn Lodge is just five minutes from Gatwicks terminals and theres a dedicated shuttlebus that's easier and cheaper than queuing for a regular bus or booking a taxi.
Parking - an all-inclusive parking deal means you dont have to worry about driving to the airport or using public transport. Note that customer parking is at the nearby Cambridge hotel (see Parking tab for further details).
Check in is from 2pm and check out is 11am.

This fun, family-run hotel has 22 rooms of varying shapes, sizes and finishes, you'll almost feel like part of the family when you're here.
It's a small, quiet and cosy hotel, so, although check in is from 14:00, we would recommend aiming for an early evening arrival as that's the time things start to pick up.
Dine on British and European classics in the hotel's restaurant, which serves from 18:00 to 22.30 daily. All of the dishes are homemade and well thought out. It's not a typical low-cost hotel menu - they really take pride and care in the food that they serve.
You can have three courses for a special price when you book with us, so be sure to add dinner to your booking before you check out. You can have a browse of the set menu once you click book too, it will really get your taste buds tingling.
The best things come in small packages - that's true of the bar here. It serves typical pub favourites until late every night and the prices are very reasonable.
When it comes to the bedrooms, think family-run guest house - clean, comfortable, light and airy. Every room in the hotel is different, some have baths and some showers, and the decor is a little dated. They have everything you need for a great night's sleep - that's what you're staying for after all.
And you can log onto the internet easily as wifi is free throughout the entire hotel. Ask for the code at reception when you check in.
In the morning, sit down to a home-cooked, traditional English breakfast, which is free. Breakfast starts at 07:00 and finishes at 09:00 but you can get lighter, Continental items from 06:00.
Hints, tips and extra bits:
If you have mobility problems this is not the hotel for you. The hotel are aiming to make the rooms more accessible soon, so watch this space!
