A big hotel for small budgets

The Hotel Ibis at London Luton Airport ticks all the boxes of a budget airport hotel: it's extremely cheap, functional and within a 10-minute walk of the terminal. Overnight stays start from £39, and its ultimate purpose is to provide a comfortable base for those who just want to get their head down and go.

There are two main aspects to the Luton Ibis: its bar-cum-restaurant and its 162 guest rooms. All bedrooms are clean, contemporary and have a flatscreen TV that doubles as a wireless router. The hotel's bar and restaurant is light and airy, and is a hive of activity with holidaymakers during the evening.

The Ibis realises that its guests come and go at all hours, so it offers a limited menu 24 hours a day and a full menu between noon and 10pm. In the daytime, its courtyard, which forms part of the bar, is a pleasant place to relax and while away the time before your flight. And if the weather's nice, it's a real sun trap - so you can top up that pre-holiday tan!

We recommend the Ibis Luton for:

Budget conscious travellers - if you don't mind no-frills, you won't mind the Ibis. It's got everything you need to get a good night's sleep, and it's easy on the wallet too.

Friends - younger travellers who are going away with friends will find the Ibis ideal. It's cheap, which leaves more holiday spending money, and the lounge area with a pool table provides a sociable atmosphere to get into the holiday mood.

The room was very small and through a dim corridor difficult to find and no lift. Very disappointed as we had stayed before in a much nicer room. Not very good for two elderly ladies.

Mrs Reilly (Luton Ibis)

Absolute excellent booked hotel and train tickets staff good will use you again and very cheap Thankyou

Mrs Rhoad (Luton Ibis)

The Ibis hotel was clean and tidy the staff helpful. It would be an idea to tell people that the transfer bus collects from the Holiday Inn which is up a steep hill and can be hard when carrying or pulling luggage.

Mrs Cochrane (Luton Ibis)

Mstr Bassett (Luton Ibis)

Arrival at the Ibis

You can check in from noon. Parking overnight at the hotel costs £5.
Here are your directions to the hotel:
By car:
Leave the M1 at junction 10 and follow signs to Luton airport. Go straight on at junction 10a, which is the first roundabout you come to after junction 10. At the next roundabout, take the second exit onto Percival Way, then turn left almost immediately into Spittlesea Road.
By train:
The nearest station is Luton Airport Parkway. A shuttle bus runs between the station and the airport every 10 minutes between 5am and midnight, and also connects with all trains which call at the station overnight.

There are roadworks in Luton taking place at various times throughout the year, so make sure you allow extra time to get to the airport. Check the Luton airport website for more details.

Checking Out

Increasing problems with congestion are being reported at Luton airport, and the airport is advising passengers to make sure they arrive with ample time to spare before their flight to avoid the risk of missing it.
The official recommendation is to arrive three hours before a long-haul flight, two hours before a European flight and 90 minutes before a domestic flight.
You must check out of the hotel by noon.
When you're ready to fly, the Arriva bus runs every 20 minutes Monday-Saturday between 06:00 and 19:00 and costs just £1.30 per person each way. Buses run every 40 minutes on Sundays.
