bmi increases Manchester to Barbados flights

bmi is now flying direct from Manchester to Barbados three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The extra flights from Manchester to Barbados are well timed for the busy Christmas and New Year holiday season in the Caribbean. "We are expecting a very high number of passengers travelling to Barbados with bmi over the next few months as this is a peak travel period for the Caribbean island," says bmi airport manager at Manchester, Brian Quinn.

Passengers taking a winter sunshine break from Manchester to Barbados will also be able to travel in greater comfort. bmi is introducing new flat beds in its business and premium economy classes.

The flat beds in business class have a seat width of 26 inches and a seat pitch of 78-80 inches. In premium economy seats have a width of 21 inches, a pitch of 49 inches, and can recline up to 50 degrees.

bmi's fares from Manchester to Barbados start from £671 for economy, £1211 in premium economy and £1856 in business class.

With its fantastic climate and beautiful beaches Barbados has long been a favourite with Brits. Holiday season events in Barbados include the colourful Barbados Christmas parade in the streets of Bridgetown attended by Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman and popular cartoon characters. The Barbados Jazz Festival, celebrating the best in local and international jazz, runs from 14 to 20 January 2008.
