What are Chessington's opening times?

What do I need to bring with me to enter Chessington?

To enter Chessington, you will need to bring a printed copy of your Chessington tickets which will be attached to your email booking confirmation in a PDF format. Simply scan the barcodes on your tickets at the 'print at home' turnstiles at the park entrance where your adventure begins. The lead name on the booking will also need to bring photographic identification or a credit card.

Does Chessington charge for parking?

Yes, parking is charged at £3 per car (subject to change). Guests staying at one of the Chessington Resort Hotels benefit from free parking in the hotel car park. Guests need to purchase car parking tickets before leaving Chessington.

10% of every car parking fee will be donated to the Chessington Conservation Fund which helps to protect the future or nature and wildlife.

Is Express Parking available at Chessington?

Yes, Express Parking is located at the Lodge Gate entrance, accessed via the Resort Hotel entrance. Express Parking costs £10 per car and can be pre-booked online on the Chessington website, or paid on the day at the staffed entrance.

Can I return to my car throughout the day?

Yes, to return to your car throughout the day you must get your hand stamped as you exit the park. If you fail to get your hand stamped when you exit, you may not be readmitted to the park. Your ticket is not proof of re-entry.

What is the nearest train station to Chessington World of Adventures?

The nearest train station to Chessington World of Adventures is Chessington South Station.

Is there a bus to Chessington from the local train station?

Yes, there are regular buses to the Chessington World of Adventures Resort from most local train stations. Please be aware that these buses are not run by Chessington and you will need to buy tickets with the service operator.

Can I just go to the Chessington Zoo and not the theme park?

It is not possible to restrict visitors to the Chessington Zoo which is why tickets include entry to the theme park, zoo and SEA LIFE centre.

Is there a discount for those not going on the rides?

Even if you choose not to experience the theme park rides, there is a lot to see and do in the Chessington World of Adventures Resort so there is no additional discount available.

What will happen if the weather at Chessington is bad during my visit?

In cases of high winds, thunder or lightning some rides and attractions may close due to health and safety precautions. There is a selection of indoor attractions and activities that can still be enjoyed during bad weather. Please be aware that Holiday Extras Breaks will not any refunds due to bad weather.

Does Chessington have a waterpark?

The Chessington World of Adventures Resort does not have a waterpark. The Chessington Resort Hotels has an indoor themed splash pool for the use of hotel guests.

What should I wear on my day out to Chessington?

We'd suggest wearing comfortable clothing and footwear. For health and safety reasons, shirts and shoes must be work on all rides at all times.

Ride Questions

Do I have to pay for rides at Chessington?

Your ticket to the Chessington World of Adventures includes access to all of the rides in the theme park, live shows, entrance to the Chessington Zoo and SEA LIFE centre. Added extras including Fastrack tickets, arcade games and game stalls incur an additional charge.

What is Fastrack?

Fastrack tickets allow you to save time queuing on some of the park's most popular rides by using a dedicated Fastrack entrance. Fastrack tickets can be bought from the Xtra Adventures Kiosk in the park, or online via Chessington's website. Please be aware that a limited number of Fastrack tickets are available for selected rides.

How long will I have to queue for the rides and attractions at Chessington?

Queue times will vary throughout the day. Up to date waiting times are displayed on information screens at the main entrance and at the entrance of each ride.

What are the ride height restrictions at Chessington?

The height restrictions for each ride ranges from 0.9m to 1.4m minimum height. Some rides need smaller adventurers to be accompanied by an adult. For details on individual ride height restrictions, please visit our Chessington theme park attraction guide.

What time do the rides at Chessington open?

The rides open at the same time as the park during the main season. Please be aware that there may be occasions when certain rides are unavailable. The entrances to the ride queue lines close at the same time as the park. The ride will keep running until the queue has cleared (subject to availability).

Will the rides at Chessington run in bad weather?

All of the rides at Chessington are designed to run in the rain. However, depending on the severity of the conditions, some rides may need to close. High winds and low visibility are likely to cause ride closures. Updates will be posted on the ride queue boards in the park.

Accessibility Questions

What rides can I go on if I have an injury in a cast, splint or air boot etc.?

Health and safety requirements mean that guests with injuries in a cast, splint, air boot etc. will be unable to experience some rides and attractions. Full details on Chessington's cast policy are available here.

Is Chessington suitable for disabled guests?

The Chessington World of Adventures Resort is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Chessington's full disability guide is available to view here.

Are assistance dogs allowed at Chessington?

Yes, registered assistance dogs are allowed into the park.

Can I hire a wheelchair at Chessington?

Free wheelchair hire is available for registered disabled guests. Please be aware that wheelchair availability cannot be guaranteed. A £10 deposit is required (subject to change). Lost or damaged wheelchairs may result in a charge.

What facilities are available for disabled guests at Chessington?

Guest Help and Information in Market Square offer advice on ride access and restrictions for disabled guests and issue ride access wristbands and passes (conditions apply). There are disabled toilets throughout the park and a toilet with a shower, changing bench and hoist in Transylvania. Complimentary wheelchair hire is also available. What tickets do disabled guests need?

Disabled registered guests are able to bring a registered carer for free. Please call our Customer Experience Team on 0800 093 2547 to arrange a break that meets your needs.

Park Facility Questions

Is food and drink available at Chessington?

A wide variety of food, drinks, snacks and sweet treats are available throughout the resort. You'll find options for main meals, fast food, healthy eating and vegetarian dishes.

Can I bring a packed lunch to Chessington?

Yes, there are several outdoor picnic areas and places to sit throughout the Resort.

Are there any shops in the park?

There are various retail shops and stands located throughout Chessington?

When do the shops at Chessington close?

The shops at Chessington close approximately 30 minutes after the advertised ride closing time. Shops attached to rides close when the ride closes at the end of the day.

Does Chessington offer ride photos?

You can purchase ride photos as you exit certain rides on the day of your visit. Photos are removed from the system each night, so if you have not purchased photos on the day of your visit they cannot be retrieved.

Does Chessington have a cash machine?

A cash machine is available in Market Square.

Does Chessington have lockers?

Yes, lockers are available to hire at Chessington (subject to availability). Lockers can be found in Transylvania, Market Square and Land of the Dragons. Locker hire is charged at £1 per hour or £5 all day for small lockers and £2 per hour or £10 all day for large lockers (subject to change). All items are left at the owner's risk.

Does Chessington have wifi?

The Chessington World of Adventures Resort offers guests free wifi, powered by The Cloud.

Does Chessington have first aid facilities?

Yes, the First Aid Centre can be found in the Forbidden Kingdom.

What is the smoking policy at Chessington?

Smoking at Chessington is prohibited, except in the designated smoking areas throughout the park.

Can I hire a pushchair at Chessington?

Yes, pushchairs can be hired from both of the gate entrances. Pushchair hire is charged at £6.50 for a single buggy and £8.50 for a double buggy (subject to change). Please be aware that pushchair hire is subject to availability.

Does Chessington have baby care facilities?

Yes, baby changing facilities can be found near the Lodge Gate entrance, in Market Square and Transylvania. Nappies and wipes are available to purchase if required.

Microwaves are available to heat up baby food in Adventurers' Chicken Shack, Original Sandwich Co., Market Square Pizza Pasta, Temple Restaurant & Bar and Zafari Bar & Grill. Baby food can be purchased from Market Square Pizza Pasta.

Does Chessington offer a parent swap pass?

Yes, parents can still enjoy the rides for bigger adventurers when visiting with toddlers with a parent swap pass. Collect your pass from Guest Help and Information in Market Square. Parents can take it in turns to go on the rides and only queue once — the second parent to ride can use the ride exit to get on the ride nice and quickly.
