How Does It Work?

What happens once I've booked my transfer from Malta Airport?

So you've booked your Malta airport transfer with Holiday Extras. Hooray! You will receive an email confirmation, which contains important information regarding your booking, including details of where to meet your driver in the airport and your return transfer time. Make sure you print off a copy, because you will need it for each of your transfers. Then all you need to do is sit back, relax and start dreaming of Malta.

Arriving at Malta Luqa Airport

  • When you have touched down in Malta, go and wrestle your suitcase off of the baggage carousel and make your way to the arrivals hall.
  • What happens next will depend on whether you have booked a shared or private transfer. If you are on a shuttle bus, you will be met by a representative, who will show you to your transfer.
  • If you've opted for a private transfer, you will either find your driver waiting for you in the hall with a sign, or at a designated desk. This will be detailed on your confirmation email.

Uh oh! My flight has been delayed!

If your plane sits on the runway for a while and it delays your arrival time, don't worry. Simply call the number on your confirmation and let your provider and driver know what has happened. They will then be able to wait for you or make alternative arrangements to ensure that your transfer is ready and waiting when you arrive in Malta.

When it's time to come home

When it's time to come home, we have made sure that your transfer back to Malta airport is hassle free. Your confirmation will have all the details, including time and pick up point. Any problems, just give that number on the confirmation a call and have a chat with your provider.

It's recommended that you're all packed and ready at least 15 minutes before your pick up time, to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Our Guide To Malta

Malta may be small, but it isn't short on things to do and places to go. Head down to Bugibba and enjoy the sunshine on the beach, or take a stroll through the sleepy harbour town of Valletta. If you're looking to sample Malta's famous nightlife, both Sliema and St Paul's bay are top choices. With so much to do in Malta, it's no surprise that it's an island that keeps people coming back for more, year after year.

Malta is an island of cuisine, and being an island, it's no surprise that fish is at the centre of its culinary repertoire. The majority of restaurants will have an extensive selection of fish dishes as well as various other meats, pastas and bread. Rabbit is also considered a delicacy on Malta, so expect to find pie, stews and rabbit steak on most menus.

Malta is known for its military history predominantly, and has several war museums depicting its part in both World Wars. The history of Malta goes back far further than that though. Take a trip to the prehistoric temples that date back thousands of years, or simply wander around Valletta and immerse yourself in wall to wall history mixed with shopping and culture; a perfect example of Malta embracing past meeting present.

If you're looking to explore Malta's own corner of paradise, take a boat trip to Gozo, where you'll find blue waters, lagoons and beaches as far as the eye can see. Gozo is perhaps most famous for being the location much of Game of Thrones was filmed. At great fact to boast to friends and family when returning home!
