The barrier did not recognise car and tried to charge me to get out, had to call for assistance

We found it very difficult to exit the carpark - the button to press was almost impossible to see in the dark a lit button would be more practical. From the instructions on screen it appeared we would have to pay again. So not as smooth an experience as you usually have at other airports. We tried ringing the numbers on the booking but there was no reply - not helpful.

i was not impressed with this airport parking, in fact i would say i will never park there again, my car would not start so a friend asked staff if he could come in and give me a jump start, they said yes it's ok, but on leaving they charged him £15, and when i put my ticket in the machine it stated i had to pay £105, a female operative was passing and she got them to open the barrier. i intend to make a complaint about this.

Not everything went smoothly. The parking facility was advertised as having automatic entry and exit through using an ANPR system. This didn't work and it was difficult to get the intercom at the ticket barrier to work as well. Delay entering and leaving he parking site. This is a problem if you're short on time!

Very good parking area, plenty of space and near terminal. The only problem was that the number recognition did not work on both the arrival and departure from the car park and we had to contact the help desk to open the barriers.

The actual system does not always work at the barrier we were told we owe 90 pounds after we had already booked and pre paid and this is not the first time... It was dealt with promptly but it is just annoying when you just want to get home to have this problem occur

Arrived at 04.30 Couldn't see any cameras so the barrier didn't open automatically as stated in your arrival instructions. One of your contact numbers was only operational during office hours,finally got through and told to press the help button on the ticket machine, it was dark and the buttons were not illuminated and had to use torch on phone to see what to press, told to take ticket and the barrier would open. On return barrier again did not open automatically so put ticket in and the display said £120 to pay so I pressed the help button and waited 5 minutes for a reply this was at 12.45 hours. Luckily there wasn't anyone behind me waiting to get out. After confirming my name and reg number the barrier was raised. Not a smooth operation as stated in your literature. Your procedures/ instructions need updating before I would recommend or use your services again!

The barrier did not lift for me and the call button did not seem to work properly or it took nearly 10 mins for someone to answer me by which time I was very distressed. Similar to get out of the car park I had to provide all my details. I was not expecting to have to do this from the information on the website there should have been numberplate recognition.

I would have rated 10 but we had issues trying to leave the car park as they did not recognise our booking with you and it had to be verified by the ticket office in the airport causing quite a delay, to then be told not to use a third party for booking the parking. So despite it not being your fault unless this can be resolved I would book direct with the airport. Hopefully you can look into this and resolve it.

Overall a very good long stay parking service. However, when leaving the car park at night after a long flight, the automatic recognition service did not recognise my car number plate. Had some trouble too getting through on the phone for assistance.

Upon entering car park the camera recognised my registration from the booking, produced a ticket, barrier lifted and I parked up. Upon exiting however, the machine rejected my ticket as the registration was incorrectly shown on the ticket. I pressed the help button for assistance and the staff member was extremely helpful and polite and I was able to exit after giving the name of the booking.

All worked well, no problems, so no need to contact staff. Suggest you add 'take ticket, you will need it to exit' to your arrival and departing instructions - we knew this from other experience, others may not.

The Southend Airport experience was brilliant. Car registration recognition at Long Stay 3 worked perfectly. Only 200 yard walk to the terminal. Plane was clean, comfortable and on time. Staff were all very pleasant.

Instructions were incorrect we were told that the barrier would just raise on number plate recognition but we had to take a ticket to enter. This is not a problem but instructions should be correct.
