Jet2's inaugural leisure flight took off in February 2003 from Leeds Bradford airport, since when the regional airline has emerged as a serious player in the low-cost airline sector. Jet2 operates from eight airports across the north of the UK, with a 39-strong fleet of distinctive red-tailed jets flying to more than 50 destinations on 189 routes across Europe.

What’s special about Jet2’s cabin crew?

Jet2’s cabin crew ethos is to provide a “great deal friendlier” service. Whilst most airlines claim to provide the best customer service, Jet2 actively nurtures the skills needed to do so from the very start of its cabin crew training programme.

Has Jet2 won any other awards?

Jet2.com has scooped a number of other awards including: Group Travel Awards 2012 – Best Airline for Groups, Globe Travel Awards 2012 – Best Short Haul Airline, Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association (SPAA) Awards 2011 - Best Low-cost Airline, Telegraph Travel Awards 2011 – Runner Up Best Short Haul Airline, 2010 British Travel Awards for Best Trade Booking Website (Flights) – Bronze Award. It was also named Best Airline for Mainline Spain, Balearics and the Canaries by Which? It also picked up silver and bronze awards for Best Airline for Value for Money and Best Airline Cabin Crew in the Holiday Extras Customers' Awards in 2011.
