More than 18,000 Holiday Extras customers voted in the first-ever Holiday Extras Customers' Awards during the summer of 2009, naming Monarch Airlines as one of the top two best airline cabin crews.

Monarch Airlines has been priding itself on giving customers exactly what they want since 1968, when it operated just two aircraft.

The popularity of the package holiday industry meant that by 1972 Monarch was carrying more than 500,000 passengers on an all-jet fleet, unusual at that time. Throughout the following decades, the airline continued to grow by adapting to customer demands and advances in technology.

In 2009, the Monarch fleet is numbered at 32, carrying more than six million passengers to over 100 destinations across the globe on both charter and scheduled flights. Now, more than ever, the airline is keen to capitalise on new technology to benefit air travellers.

On receiving the award, Anne Marie Cottee, Cabin Crew Manager, said: “Safety and customer care are our priorities and it is lovely that our customers recognise our cabin crew for their commitment to providing excellent customer service.”
