Latest Brexit delay means more holiday bargains

The latest research shows that while while Brexit is now delayed until January, many overseas flights are still priced for political uncertainty - meaning huge travel bargains for travellers who book quickly

According to our latest research, trips just after 31st October are still priced for political uncertainty - meaning travellers able to move and book quickly could be in line for massive savings!

Destination Last week October First week November % change
Tenerife £53 £39 26.4%
Alicante £22 £12 45.5%
Malaga £18 £12 33.3%
Lanzarote £55 £50 9%
Mallorca £14 £11 21.4%

Looking at the cheapest flights available for the last week of October (before what would have been Brexit Day) and the first week of November, the research shows average flight prices down 25% for the most popular destinations for British tourists - and in some popular winter sun hotspots falls of nearly 50%.

Commenting on the results, Seamus McCauley, Holiday Extras' Editor-in-Chief, said,

"Political events this week have moved so quickly that flight prices seem not to have kept up. As the chance of the UK leaving the EU on 31st October has fallen dramatically, the risk for British tourists flying to Europe in the first few days of November has largely evaporated. But it looks like flights are still priced for political risk and uncertainty, so our tip for holidaymakers looking to bag a bargain is to book quickly before the airlines catch up with the most recent developments in Westminster and Brussels!"

"Even if the worst happens and we leave the EU without a deal, Holiday Extras' Brexit Disruption Cover offers protection from the possible effects of a no deal Brexit. So either way, you should be able to bag an absolute bargain of a November holiday if you can book before the flight prices move again."
