Travel Insurance for Scuba Diving

If you plan to venture beneath the surface this year, you'll of course be eager to don a snorkel and fins, but be sure to book Holiday Extras' holiday insurance before you do. Not only will you benefit from our wide range of policy protection levels but you are also covered to scuba dive up to 30m (not solo) at no extra cost.

Good news for you, your travel insurance cover for scuba divers is already included in your regular policy alongside a further 100+ sports. There might be some sports excluded from your chosen travel insurance policy, in which case you must arrange additional cover with our team; to do so you can contact us on our free helpline and we'll do our best to arrange your extra cover by selecting the appropriate additional cover pack.

Holiday Extras cover levels

There are 2 types of policies with 4 levels of cover to choose from. We try to make finding the right travel insurance policy for scuba diving simple and affordable, so whether you purchase a single trip or a annual travel insurance policy, you are entitled to dive up to 30m (not solo) with full cover across the UK, Europe and worldwide, dependent on which area you decide to visit. You are only covered for the region you choose on your policy. All of our levels of cover provide financial protection for medical and cancellations costs, lost luggage cover and a 24/7 emergency helpline:

Tips for safe scuba diving

Drink and dive - No we don't mean alcohol but good old-fashioned H20. It's very important to stay hydrated whilst scuba diving so hold off the alcohol until you're finished diving.

Prepare for the diving day - Arrive early to ensure there's somewhere to store your gear throughout the day and be sure to apply sun cream regularly. It might also be a good idea to take some seasickness tablets before you set off.

Monitor your air supply - We cannot stress this one enough! By reducing your speed and avoiding rapid body movement, you'll find your air consumption becomes more efficient. We'd recommend remaining calm and concentrating on slow breathing.
